DESIGN

The Design Process

At the conclusion of the Consultation Alex will have extensive notes about everything discussed. These notes serve as an outline for the formation of a vision for your project. Together, we determine which area(s) will be concentrated on for the drafting of a plan. Then, Alex will take necessary site measurements, grades, and photographs.

Design Agreement

Following the Consultation, you are emailed a Design Agreement that offers description on precisely what is being designed and the fees for doing so. Designs can be a simple as a conceptual sketch just to put ideas on paper or more involved covering master planning of multiple planting and/or hardscape items. The level of detail you would like to see with the plan and the scope and scale of the project will determine the design fees.

Presentation

Often the design alone can be emailed to you. However, it can be a bit challenging to interpret and visualize what they illustrate. Accurately understanding it may be enhanced with a presentation. Just like with the consultation, Alex can return for an additional appointment and present you the plan in person to walk you through it either at your kitchen table or physically on the site itself. Alex can literally paint you a picture with spray paint on the ground if helpful.

Supporting Documents

You may wish to pursue implementation of your design. Alex is happy to help with that as well offering services to prepare bid documents such as plant lists and material quantities so you may shop for them or seek a contractor’s assistance. She can also review proposals you have solicited from contractors to make sure they present thoroughly and are priced fairly, prepare your Homeowner’s Association approval documents, assist with permitting processes (please note engineering and permit fees not included), and anything else that may be beneficial to your project.

You are also welcome to check out PS Project Management offerings if you would like Alex to oversee everything from start to finish.
